Reading lists

  • For 2025, and I am starting ‘Bookish Bingo’ with The Bookish Mindest on Instagram. This is a a casual reading guide spread over 6 months which gives 9 prompts relating to older titles, library novels or under represented authors.

I am also also going make a stab at the longlist for the International Booker Prize (which is quite the list) - starting with ‘Eurotrash’.

  • Raising Hare (Dec 24) didn’t know I was ready for a lockdown memoir - but add in a cute baby bunny and I’m sold.

Dope Girls (Nov 24) ‘the birth of the British drug underground’ - call me intrigued!

The Heat Will Kill you First (Oct 24) if you aren’t afraid of climate change, you will be after this. It genuinely scares me for the children

Democracy in Retrograde (Sept 24). Quick and easy to make me feel hopeful about the future of American politics

  • After the last 6 months present and active on Bookstagram I have found it to be one of the most welcoming and supportive of online groups. People are huge on community building, kindness and of course recommendations.  The talent and creativity in how people recommend, frame and consider new books is impressive – I’m blown away! I frequently repost my favourite reviewers and recommendations on the Boutique Book Break Instagram Page.
